About Me:
Hi, I'm Mohamed Sami, an aspiring character artist . Before specializing in Characters and Creatures for Film at Think Tank, I've always studied the human anatomy more than anything else in my 2D art, regardless of medium. Although none of my final projects from Term 1 and 2 are portfolio pieces (or shareable), I am moving forward to my next 2 terms in confidence; that's thanks to the vast knowledge I've gained and yet to gain from Think Tank in this short time. My aim is develop the right skills in creating Characters and Creatures in the 3D space, whether for films or games, and experience these skills in a working environment with teams of like-minded individuals where knowledge is shared.

Advanced Final Project
For my advanced term, I've decided to work on character likeness of Lady Jessica from Dune (played by Rebecca Ferguson). Our supervisor has taken us through the pipeline of creating character likeness for production, and currently I'm working on refining textures and hair. Once done, I will be adding her clothes to the final render. I'm having lots of fun working on this character and can see myself working on more character likeness in the future, along with other workflows for stylized characters.
Intermediate Final Project
Term 2 Final Project is where the fun began, but that also meant more challenges. This was my first character done in 3D, using a character sheet concept by Boulivet Alexis. My main focus was to sculpt and model the character as close to the concept as possible, which took a lot of time off the texturing process, let alone lighting and rendering. For my first character asset, I'm happy with the modeling, but moving forward in my third Term, I am focusing on texturing, lighting, look dev and rendering.

My aim for my Foundation Term Final Project was to get used to hard surface modelling, while taking the asset through production pipeline. As a first 3D asset, modelling and texturing hard surface was the challenging part, but thankfully my supervisors helped me tackle them with the right approach, and a lot was gained moving forward to the next term.
