About Me:
Hello My name is Basel and i am a student specializing in Environment and props for film. It became a passion to be a texture and lookdev artist besides modelling which i find pretty fun. I aspire to work as texture and lookdev in the film industry. in my projects i tried to pick the concepts that can teach me a lot about these 2 majors texture and lookdev. I aim to learn all the skills that can make me a texture/lookdev artist i can be proud of and be capable of handling all type of tasks. I will always seek learning about film and CG and the best way to learn is to be involved in real projects with a significant talented people. I will come to a very important part is why i have got passionate about texture and lookdev, i discovered bringing the assets or environment to life is the most meaningful thing that made me feel creating a life in itself. I am still a beginner i haven't created anything yet that has the wow factor yet but i am very confident that ill have that one day because I am enjoying learning it and happy with the progress even though is not alot. PS I would love to be a generalist too because it is still fun for me being involved in all department to enable me to even learn more and be more capable.

Advanced Final Project
For my work in progress Advanced Term final project, I am exploring the creation of highly detailed environment and hardsurface piece I was trying to explore in areas i need to learn from water, foliage complex pieces it didn't turned out finished yet had personal issues that i had to leave the project for few weeks but i have learned a lot and continuing to develop the skills of texturing and lookdev. i will keep continue working on it until i can create a realistic and cinematic scene like i visioned it unfortunately i am not at the speed i wanted but eventually will reach there
Intermediate Final Project
In my term 2 i was more aware of my limitation and skills which i decided i want to go with interior environment this time that has something new to learn from so i went with this concept which has very unique texturing and lighting combination and a lot of pieces to model so i still can learn in all areas, i am still not happy with the results i got totally as i also faced new set of issues but not sad too because i was able to apply all the skills i carried over from previous term and bringing new skills to life so i am less sad and more happier with what i have achieved in this term. in this term i learnt alot in modelling area i have sculpted a details on a purse making folds on it. I have created a curtain, pillow and a towel in Marvelous designer. I have experienced how to convert the workflows how to move your work from Zbrush and marvelous designer to Maya import/export to retopology. It was also totally fun learning a lot of new stuff in texturing like projection, and painting techniques in Mari and Substance With lighting I knew how to use volumetrics better to make it work with lights and also making rain drops on the window dripping with a texture in Vray also creating cards for smoke and stove fire
FuNdamentals FInal ProJect
For my final project in the first term i went to be over ambitious i though i am capable to prove that i can do it in 4 weeks and doing a day job that won't stop me of creating something amazing i went and searched for something that can showcase the complexity of modelling and having a great texturing and lookdev workflow. So i went with an environment that checked all the boxes for me but as a beginner i encountered many and many issues and with the time we have plus doing a full time job i failed to make it like i visioned it to make it 1 to 1 with the concept but i am not totally sad because this result was the first ever project i have ever did and i think all the problem i faced have taught me alot. this project have taught me more about modelling and UVing process it made me understand how to match camera with the concept better and UVing too. It introduced alot of new skills in texturing using Mari how it actually works. I have experienced lighting and shading too for the first time and understood the tools and the technicalities as basic knowledge.
