About Me:
Hello! My name is Ali Al Radhi and I am a student specializing in Characters and Creatures for Games. I started off being a 2D artist with a huge love for games which grew into a passion for 3D overtime. I absolutely love sculpting and texturing and aspire to work in the gaming industry. I aim high here I come Blizzard! I have a huge soft spot for stylized work but have been slowly loving exploring semi-realism in characters. During my time in think tank I have completed my foundation final and am currently in my advanced term hoping to finish other projects where I have developed my sculpting, texturing and rendering skills.

For my Portfolio Production final project, I'm delving into the creation of highly detailed character sculptures inspired by steampunk art style. Right now, I'm refining my initial high poly and experimenting with different sculpting techniques to capture likeness and intricate details. One of my main challenges is ensuring consistency in scale and proportion while striving for realism in my designs. As I progress, I’m excited to explore advanced texturing methods and further hone my sculpting skills to produce a triple A level character.
Advanced Final Project
My Advanced final was a different approach to my other projects. Firstly, it appears I would go more into the stylized direction with the concept being heavily inspired by Valorant art from League of Legends. I apporached this project with an attempt to recreate it into a more cinematic version where it has some stylization but with realistic texturing and a more realistic face. This process made the simple concept far more complex with the face being a huge learning curve. I am super happy with the fact that I have completed the full character high poly phase with only the prop left for later on to be completed. I am working on the low poly currently and am learning a lot about the process.
Intermediate Final Project
My intermediate final was a huge challenge for me. I was working during the entire program and did not have as much time as others but decided to try and push myself for a piece with variation and hard surface. I learned so much about sculpting faces, anatomy, clean topology and how I can make folds in my high poly. I did not reach the texturing stage but will return to the project in the future and complete it. It was my first time using zbrush, sculpting and learning how to make proper 3D game ready characters and props and the process was challenging yet fun and rewarding.

For my Term 1 Final project I was inspired by my favorite artist, mentor and view him as an older brother Ahmed Albastaki. His art is very high level so it was tough to find a piece where I could say that I can even do it justice. It was a huge learning process to poly model that scene and what made it shine was when I took the piece into texturing. I was happy overall with the result and learned so much from modelling, UV mapping, hand painted texturing and was excited to just learn. To top it all off he loved the piece!
